Maxpro

Maxpro is a medication that reduces stomach acid production, helping to treat heartburn, acid reflux, and esophageal issues. It is also used for the prevention and treatment of stomach ulcers. Take Maxpro as directed by your doctor, using the lowest effective dose for the shortest duration necessary. Typically, it should be swallowed whole about an hour before a meal at the same time each day. While it may take a few weeks to work fully, continue taking it as prescribed even if symptoms improve quickly. For long-term use, your doctor may monitor magnesium levels, as this medication can lower them over time.

Common side effects include headache, constipation or diarrhea, stomach pain, nausea, or vomiting. These are generally mild but consult your doctor if they persist or worsen. Prolonged use may increase the risk of side effects, including bone fractures. To minimize symptoms, avoid trigger foods like spicy, fatty, or rich foods, as well as caffeinated drinks and alcohol.

Before using Maxpro, inform your doctor if you have severe liver disease, osteoporosis, HIV medications, or previous allergic reactions to similar drugs. While alcohol does not interfere with Maxpro, it can increase stomach acid production. This medication may cause dizziness, drowsiness, or vision problems, so avoid driving or operating machinery if affected. It is generally not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
